THE BREAKABEEN STORY

A resilient supply chain is foundational to your mission’s success.  Smart Sourcing the right suppliers ensures unbeatable performance, high quality, and flexibility.  Breakabeen Associates brings experienced resources to assist your efforts applying industry best practices to achieve compelling results.  Even the name, Breakabeen, brings a sense of endurance and success.

The name Breakabeen is German for a type of rush plant that grows along a river bank.  This hearty grass helps to stabilize and protect the bank against erosion.  It also contributes to the conservation of natural resources in and around the river filtering the water so that fish can thrive and producing food for wildlife frequenting the stream.

Breakabeen is also a hamlet nestled in the Catskill Mountains and situated in Schoharie County New York alongside the Schoharie Creek, very near to Breakabeen Associates' home.  Originally part of the Iroquois Nation, it was settled by the Dutch and Germans around the turn of the eighteenth century.  This region had rich soil for growing produce and plenty of land for dairy farming.  It later became known as the bread basket of the Revolutionary War sending food to George Washington’s troops at Valley Forge.  It remains today as a farming community supplying farm-to-table services and products to many restaurants and stores in major markets.

As history suggests, this region’s supply chain has continued to provide people, natural resources, and wildlife with the necessary staples to survive many centuries notwithstanding the many challenges over time such as war, flooding, drought.

So, how strong is your supply chain? Can it withstand the test of time?
